Another New Edition

Wizards of the Coast announced today that the 4th edition of the franchise will be released May 2008, starting with the players handbook. Now, if you don't play the game you fucking should, and if you do, you probably rolled your eyes like I did. BUT! Something did catch my eye- the internet componant. A virtual gaming table will be constructed, as well as online forms for characters, dungeons, ect. This, I believe has great potential. And since the wizard bords and anyone else with a d20 is telling eachother what Wizards should do, I'll give my 2 cents.

The beauty of the internet has always been the community. Anyone tranversing boards and blogs have seen blogging legends, people who's ideas and actions are actualy uplifting in an odd, long distance relationship kind of way. And I'm sure you've wanted to be part of that tight nit community if you are worth your dripping blogger sweat in gold. With online play availible, this comunity can explode and creat something that represents what dungeons and dragons is all about- a living, breathing world, But a gamming world, not a hyper reality. Excellent DM's rsieing in acclaim and popularity, players creating legendary characters, and all the sotries that go along with it. A ture, united, gamers paradise. Yes, the internet could indeed bring the game to a whole new level.

Now, that being said, why am I pissed off? BECAUSE YOU CAN DO ALL THIS WITH THE CURRENT EDITION!!!!Why the FUCK do I need to buy a whole new set of books (by the way, I have over 30) to do something that should be happening NOW! because wizards wants money! They want to make the colectability part of the game, weather it is feats, spells, or monsters that come in neet little packets for 20 bucks each. Fuck them.
